This Yakfest was a cold a Yakfest as we've seen in years. Except for a brief time during a rainy afternoon when the temperature hit 66°, the temperature consistently hovered in the 30s with brisk winds dropping the wind chill feel to bone chilling levels. Range: 22-66°. Luckily it was March Madness time so plenty of college basketball to watch. The Maltese Falcon was a featured movie and we watched the TV mini-series Grant. Thanks to Buck for the cocktails once again.

We again had an embarrassment of riches for meals. The Kraken made brats for Friday night dinner. Guy's pasta sauce was delicious (though there were murmurs of dissent about the lack of meatballs!) Meals included pancakes, Rigatoni and broccoli salad, cabbage and sausage, spicy bean soup, grilled cheese, puttanesca, steak, acorn squash, dutch apple pie, gelato, buttermilk muffins, fried greens, salad, jerk chicken, and the Old Man's beef stew & soda bread with caraway seeds. Sunday breakfast at Lu-Lou's and Thursday dinner at Cole's Pub. Ma Conn once again provided us with dozens of delicious cookies plus a new peanut butter cup cookie.
