Yakfest 67

March 15-21, 2021

The weather was good, not as good as the last Yakfest, high 68, low 25; the Old Man rode his bike almost every day. BLTs made an appearance at many lunches. Omelets, bacon or sausages, and home fries for breakfast. Portuguese kale soup and green enchilada chicken soup; homemade potato chips. Reubens at Cole’s for dinner on St. Patrick’s Day. It rained all day Thursday, so we went to Allegheny Smokeworks in Blavnox, bought some tobacco and corncob pipes, had a smoke in the lounge.

Buck treated for dinner Friday – 50 raw oysters, served up with fried greens, the Old Man earned the nickname seagull for picking the meat scraps off the discarded shells. Singapore Slings, martinis, army-navy, and puddlers served with oysters. Ma Conn cookies, and excellent banana bread. Grilled sausages for lunch Saturday, and pasta dinner. The old man was on his phone by the lake at dusk and claims to have sighted an otter climbing out on shore. No fires, no cigars smoked.

Attendance Roll
