Best Weather Ever
Good to have Yakfest after COVID restrictions cancelled the March meeting. The best weather to date for a Yakfest, mostly sunny every day, no rain, seasonal on Monday, 70 degrees or better from then on; low 34, high 73. Road repairs on the Lodge road & on the Park road near RT 30.
Misc
No hard liquor showed up. Menu: meat and cheese sandwiches, shrimp Mac & cheese, rosemary yam fries, sausage potatoes O’Brien, fried peppers from Guy’s garden, spinach mushroom grilled cheese sandwiches;, pasta with sausage, onions, and mushrooms; shredded hash browns. Saturday night pasta with sauce. Soups included chicken, roasted butternut squash bisque, and tomato spinach hot sausage. Dinner at Cole’s one night. Ma Conn cookies were well received as always.
Plenty of bocce, hiking & walking, many pipes were smoked nad fires almost every night. The old man brought his bike and rode every day. Janowski’s sold off the restaurant across the street from their Market. A feral cat showed up at the Lodge several times, the Old Man fed him some provolone; he also tried to adopt a feral kitten at the Hungerford cabin.
