Yakfest 52 was at beloved Yakfest Manor, also known as Lakeside Lodge. A cold spring temperature range: high temp 52°F, Low temp 29°F.
The Kraken came to this Yakfest 50 pounds lighter. He was a lean, mean Cheerio eating machine. The tables turned for the euchre players as Buck took Mark G. to the cleaners. The main movie was "Skyfall" and consensus was the latest Bond movie was great. Early Saturday morning Dave took off to New York for a whirlwind trip to Carnegie Hall and was back on Sunday afternoon. It was pure joy to see Vince and the Old Man playing kickball.
Chow... The Old Man again prepared several items for us: cream of tomato soup, pulled pork and soda bread with molasses. Guy's St. Patrick's Irish Cheddar soup was great. Paul made sausage Sloppy Krakens. Mark G.'s Italian sausage sandwiches were divine. Guy's Monk book of salads provided its first salad at Yakfest: Northern Italian Bean Salad. The salad was great an continued to improve when refrigerated. Ma Conn blessed us with two new cookies and Mark G. offered his chocolate-bacon cookies.
